SUBSTANCE: strain DSM 32186 of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and strain DSM 32187 of Desulfovibrio piger are proposed for use as a probiotic. The strains show a synergistic effect with increased production of butyrate.
EFFECT: invention can be used in the treatment or prevention of a disease associated with reduced levels of butyrate.
