FIELD: accelerator driven systems.
SUBSTANCE: accelerator driven system contains a target formed by a heavy metal in a liquid phase, an ion guide forming a vacuum channel for bringing relativistic ions to the target, and a blanket surrounding said target, located on the same longitudinal axis, and a heat exchanger designed to cool said blanket. The target and the vacuum channel are hermetically separated from the mentioned blanket formed by natural or depleted uranium or thorium in the liquid phase, located in a sealed housing. Moreover, the external characteristic transverse size of the blanket Db and targets Dt selected from the ratio and the heat exchanger is a tank with running water.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of the reaction of fast neutrons in the blanket.
