FIELD: testing products for total leaks.
SUBSTANCE: tests are carried out in advance for the total leakage of products identical with the tested product, in which their total leakage is determined by the loss of the amount of control gas in the tested identical product. During the tests for the total leakage of products identical with the tested product, the duration of transient processes of establishing stationary values of the total leakage of products is measured. The product under test is filled with test gas up to the test pressure. During the specified time, ageing is provided for the passage of transient processes in the product under test. The ageing time is set equal to the duration of the transient process of establishing a stationary flow of the control gas through the leaks of the tested product, which is estimated as the maximum value from the totality of the measured durations of the transient processes of establishing stationary values of the total leakage of products during earlier tests of products identical with the tested product. During ageing, the total leakage of the tested product is periodically determined by the loss of the amount of control gas in it. Moreover, the period of determination during exposure of the total leakage of the tested product is chosen equal to the duration of the determination of the total leakage of the tested product by the loss of the amount of control gas in it. The ageing and testing of the product is terminated if the value measured during periodic determinations of the total leakage of the tested product exceeds the permissible value.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of product testing for total leaks.
