FIELD: medical devices.
SUBSTANCE: artificial heart valve delivery and placement assembly comprises an artificial heart valve mounted on a balloon for deployment at a target location, the artificial heart valve being sized to mimic the anatomy of a natural heart valve. The delivery catheter for deploying an artificial heart valve comprises the following: an outer shaft containing an outer first end, an outer second end and a lumen, the diameter of the outer first end exceeding the diameter of the outer second end, the outer shaft comprising at least one layer; an inner shaft located inside the lumen of the outer shaft and containing the inner first end and the inner second end, and the inner shaft contains at least one layer; a support tube located over the inner second end of the inner shaft, and the support tube contains at least one opening for the passage of inflating fluid, and on the outer surface of the support tube there is a balloon; a handle located at the end of the delivery catheter; and at least one plug located on the support tube and inside the balloon, wherein the said at least one plug comprises both a first part and a second part. The first part is conical and contains a lower end and an upper end, the upper end being a crown-shaped structure containing alternating peaks and valleys, and the lower end is attached to the second part. The second part is of a cylindrical shape and contains at least one hole used for attaching the said at least one plug to the support tube.
EFFECT: ensuring uniform inflation of the catheter and uniform movement of the fluid through the valve.
