FIELD: medicine; biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method for evaluating the protective activity of pertussis vaccines in humans is proposed, which involves comparing the time of elimination of attenuated bacteria of the pertussis pathogen from the nasopharynx/oropharynx of volunteers of the studied and control groups, and the attenuated pertussis bacteria use the live recombinant pertussis vaccine GamFA at a dose of 5×109 CFU; and the use of a live recombinant GaFAD pertussis vaccine to assess the protective activity of pertussis vaccines in humans. The presence of antibacterial protective activity of the candidate vaccine is determined by the decrease in the time of removal of attenuated B. pertussis bacteria from the nasopharynx/oropharynx of volunteers of the studied group in comparison with the control group.

EFFECT: inventions provide an extension of the arsenal of methods for assessing the protective activity of pertussis vaccines in humans at the stages of a clinical trial.
