METHOD OF PREDICTING TOTAL CARDIOVASCULAR RISK IN ADOLESCENTS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/68 G01N33/74 G01N33/92

Abstract RU 2799617 C2

FIELD: medicine, cardiology, endocrinology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the overall cardiovascular risk in adolescents. In the blood serum of a teenager, the concentrations of thyroid-stimulating hormone, total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoproteins (HDL), and homocysteine are determined. The atherogenic index (AI) is calculated using the formula IA=(OH-HDL)/HDL. Next, the obtained indicators are used to determine the integral indicator of the total cardiovascular risk, equal to the ratio of homocysteine to the atherogenic index. If the value of the integral indicator is less than 2.99, the prognosis is favorable. If the value of the integral indicator is equal to 3 or more, with a thyroid-stimulating hormone level of 4.0 μU/l and higher, a high overall cardiovascular risk in adolescents is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides accessibility, simplification of the methodology, since no special equipment is required, increase in the accuracy of predicting the total cardiovascular risk in adolescents through the use of a quantitative predictive criterion based on the results of a laboratory blood test.
