FIELD: medicine; pathological physiology; extreme radiology; surgery and resuscitation.

SUBSTANCE: general uniform exposure of animals at a dose that causes the development of acute radiation injury of moderate severity is performed. The soft tissues of the thigh are injured mechanically and the femoral artery is damaged, accompanied by the development of acute massive blood loss equal to 40% of the total blood volume. After reaching the required volume of blood loss, bleeding is stopped by using a local hemostatic agent (LHA). Then, the total blood volume is replenished with saline in a volume corresponding to blood loss. The time of using the LHA is 2 hours. Then the LHA is removed from the wound, the femoral artery is ligated, and the wound is sutured in layers, followed by observation of the animals for 30 days.

EFFECT: method allows to study general biological and pathophysiological processes developing in case of radiation pathology in combination with mechanical trauma, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of new temporary hemostasis technologies in case of combined radiation and mechanical injury including soft tissue injuries of the extremities complicated by acute massive blood loss.
