FIELD: analytical biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: device for rapid assessment of the amount of easily oxidizable organic substances by the index of biochemical oxygen consumption, characterized in that it comprises a magnetic stirrer, a measuring cuvette, a silver chloride reference electrode, a working carbon-paste electrode modified with a ferrocene mediator and cells immobilized on the electrode surface – an association of yeast Blastobotrys adeninivorans VKM Y-2677 (B. adeninivorans) and Ogataea polymorpha VKM Y-2559 (O. polymorpha) in a 1:1 ratio.
EFFECT: improved technical characteristics of the device, in particular, reduced lower limit to 2 mg/dm3, reduced duration of a single measurement, and increased range of oxidizable substrates.
