FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: device for rapid assessment of toxicity of aqueous media relates to environmental monitoring and can be used for rapid assessment of the state of surface fresh, ground, drinking and waste water. Device comprises a magnetic stirrer, a measuring cell, a silver chloride reference electrode, a working carbon-paste electrode modified with a ferrocene mediator and cells immobilized on the surface of the electrode. Immobilized cells are represented by an association of bacteria Paracoccus yeei VKM B-3302 and Escherichia coli K-802 at ratio of 1:1.

EFFECT: device has improved technical characteristics, particularly increased sensitivity to cadmium ions, lead and phenol.
