SUBSTANCE: proposed is a device for determining the index of volatile phenols in water, comprising a measuring cell, a comparison electrode and a working electrode made in the form of a graphite-paste electrode, the surface of which is modified with a coating retained by a dialysis membrane, and the coating of the working electrode of the device comprising a redox layer made of a composite polymer containing bovine serum albumin covalently cross-linked with ferrocene carboxaldehyde, and the inclusion of carbon nanotubes, and a layer of laccase enzyme applied on the redox layer.
EFFECT: invention narrows the spectrum of easily oxidisable substrates which are not included in the phenol index, and increases the sensitivity coefficient of the device when monitoring volatile alkyl phenols in waste water from centralized drainage systems.
