FIELD: catalysts; hydrogen production.
SUBSTANCE: catalyst for the process of photocatalytic production of hydrogen from a weakly alkaline solution of triethanolamine under the effect of visible radiation, to the method for obtaining such catalyst, and also to the method for photocatalytic production of hydrogen. The proposed catalyst contains graphite-like carbon nitride g-C3N4, which is characterized by a pore volume of at least 0.6 cm3/g and a specific surface area of at least 116 m2/g, with platinum particles deposited on the surface and has the following composition, wt.%: 1% Pt/g-C3N4. The method of obtaining the catalyst consists in calcination of melamine:urea mixture with the mass ratios from 1:5 to 5:1 at an optimum temperature of 550°C for 2 h to obtain graphite-like carbon nitride g-C3N4. Then chloroplatinic acid H2PtCl6 is gradually added with continuous stirring, followed by reduction with an excess of sodium borohydride NaBH4 and drying at 50°C, resulting in a catalyst with platinum particles deposited on the surface of carbon nitride.
EFFECT: high activity of the claimed catalyst obtained by the proposed method in the reaction of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution from a weakly alkaline solution of triethanolamine under the effect of visible radiation at the ambient temperature.
