FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the abrasive processing of hard materials, and can be used in the manufacture of wear-resistant ceramic cutting tools. The method for manufacturing cutting plates from nitride and oxide ceramics includes obtaining workpieces in the form of ceramic plates with their subsequent grinding between two abrasive disks according to the planetary rotation scheme with ceramic plates placed in disk holders. Prior to the grinding operation, in each disk holder, at least between two adjacent holes for installing ceramic plates, a technological groove is made, in which a solid lubricant is placed based on the contact area equal to from 1/12 to 1/10 of the area of the processed plates, the composition of which contains erucamide and an equal ratio of fine boron carbide powder with vermiculite particles.
EFFECT: improved quality of the treated surface of the ceramic plate by reducing the number of defects in their surface layer and reducing the roughness.
