SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to systems and methods for obtaining radio access network information via the E2 interface of an open radio access network using an information request response procedure. The system determines whether the radio access network information is required for the Near-RT RIC based on the occurrence of at least one of scenarios of usage and deployment of an open radio access network without a subscription in the Near-RT RIC. In addition, the system creates an E2 Service Model (E2SM) container with the required information type when radio access network information is required. In addition, the system encodes the generated E2SM container in an E2 Application Protocol (E2AP) message. Thereafter, the system transmits the E2AP message as a request for radio access network information to the E2 node through the E2 interface associated with the open radio access network. The radio access network information request contains an E2SM container with the required type of information. In addition, the system receives a radio access network information response corresponding to the radio access network information request from node E2. The response with the radio access network information is transmitted by the E2 node as an E2AP response message by encoding the E2SM container with the requested radio access network information.

EFFECT: radio access network information is obtained.
