FIELD: railway engineering.
SUBSTANCE: technical diagnostics and non-destructive testing for monitoring the condition of car wheels during the movement of a train, as well as determining the residual life of the wheels. The method consists in the fact that to control the rolling surface of the wheels, it is envisaged to use a variety of measuring systems located on both straight and curved sections of the railway network, the measurement results are grouped by car number and the serial number of the wheel pair, the measurements are sorted by increasing mileage, after which the extrapolation function of the magnitude of the force of the wheel on the rail is calculated, the critical mileage is determined at which the predicted force of the wheel on the rail exceeds the maximum force.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the results of monitoring the rolling surface of wagon wheels in motion by identifying defects located at the edges of the rolling surface of the wheels and jointly processing the monitoring results of multiple measuring systems related to the same wheel pair, as well as providing the ability to predict mileage car until the wheel reaches a critical state, after which its operation must be stopped (determining the residual life of the wheel).
