The height of the implant in the subantral space (h2) is calculated by the formula: h2=hi - h1. The shape of the prepared bone bed is the shape of a cylinder. The volume of the prepared bone bed for the implant (V1) is calculated using the formula: . The shape of the implant in the subantral space is the shape of a truncated cone. The volume of the implant in the subantral space (V2) is calculated using the formula: The shape of the raised subantral space is the shape of a truncated cone. The volume of the raised subantral space (V3) is calculated using the formula: After that, the values of V3 and the sum of the values of V1 + V2 are compared. With a value of V3≤ V1 + V2 prognosis of surgery is favorable. With a value of V3 > V1 + V2, the prognosis of surgical intervention is doubtful.
