DRY POWDER INHALATOR Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61M15/00 A61M15/06

Abstract RU 2804291 C2

FIELD: medical technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a dry powder inhaler. The inhaler contains an elongated main part containing a proximal end, a distal end and an air inlet located between them. The inhaler includes a reservoir containing a reservoir cavity. The inhaler has an airway assembly located inside the main part. The air duct assembly contains the first air duct. The air duct assembly contains an internal air duct element and an external air duct element. The outer airway element surrounds the inner airway element. The inner air duct element contains a curved rib protruding into the air duct of the outer element. The inhaler contains a mouthpiece containing the air duct of the mouthpiece connected to the specified first air duct. The inhaler has an airway head attached to the airway assembly that extends into the reservoir cavity. The inhaler includes an airway assembly opening in the airway assembly connecting the reservoir cavity with the first airway.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide a dry powder inhaler that can create sufficient turbulence to allow increased amounts of powder to be moved into the airway for inhalation by the user, while maintaining ease of use in a discrete design, and which can deliver a measured but adjustable amount of dry powder for each inhalation and store dry powder in storage tank in non-dosed form.
