FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method for preparing dental preparations for morphological studies of cement in a scanning electron microscope. After extraction, the tooth is placed in a 40% formalin solution and then fixed with the possibility of cutting through all areas of cement from the cervical to the apical. Using a diamond disk with a diameter of 20 mm, a vertical separation of the tooth is carried out, obtaining a longitudinal section, cooled with distilled water. The resulting tooth fragment is placed in a cartridge placed on a horizontal surface, cut side down, and filled with two-component epoxy resin. After 24 hours, the resulting preparation is polished on an “MP-1BGrinderPolisher” machine, cooled with distilled water, using Dexter grinding wheels with a grain size of 1000 grit for 2 minutes, grinding off 0.5 mm of the preparation. Next, the preparation is polished with “Dexter” grinding wheels with a grain size of 1500, 2000 grit, alternately for 1 minute each, while another 0.5 mm of the preparation is grinded off. Control of the removed layer of the surface of the preparation is carried out using a caliper, then the preparation is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath for 1 minute, then polished on an “MP-1BGrinderPolisher” machine using a flannel polishing wheel with W52500 grit with diamond paste for 2 minutes, cooled with distilled water and clean in an ultrasonic bath for 2 minutes. After this, the preparation is dried using a cellulose napkin until traces of moisture disappear, the surface is etched with 37% orthophosphoric acid H3PO4 for 20 seconds, and washed under running distilled water for 15 seconds, and finally dried.
EFFECT: improving the method for making dental preparations for morphological studies of the structure of cement in various areas in a scanning electron microscope, under precise and objective control of grinding off the required thickness of hard tissues, which makes it possible to study cellular and acellular cement, the relief of the entire studied surface of the root part of the tooth.
