FIELD: medicine; medical diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing osteoarthritis of the knee joint in women of Russian nationality, who are natives of the Central Black Earth Region of Russia. DNA is isolated from peripheral venous blood lymphocytes. The polymorphic loci rs34195470 of WWP2 gene and rs6976 of GLT8D1 gene are analyzed. When a combination of AG rs34195470 genotypes of the WWP2 gene and CC rs6976 of the GLT8D1 gene is detected, a high risk of development of osteoarthritis of the knee joint is predicted.
EFFECT: obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of development of osteoarthritis of the knee joint in Russians being natives of the Central Chernozem Region of Russia, based on data on interlocus interaction of polymorphic variants rs34195470 of WWP2 gene and rs6976 of GLT8D1 gene.
