SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing osteoarthritis of the knee joint in women of Russian nationality, who are natives of the Central Black Earth Region of Russia. Venous blood sampling, DNA extraction from peripheral venous blood, analysis of polymorphic loci rs143384 of the GDF5 gene and rs11177 of the GNL3 gene are carried out. When a combination of genotypes GG rs143384 of the GDF5 gene and GG rs11177 of the GNL3 gene is detected, a high risk of developing osteoarthritis of the knee joint in women is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides for obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of developing osteoarthritis of the knee joint in women of Russian nationality, who are natives of the Central Black Earth Region of Russia and are not related to each other, based on data on interlocus interaction of polymorphic variants rs143384 of GDF5 gene and rs11177 of GNL3 gene.
