FIELD: detectors.

SUBSTANCE: infrared detector includes a base layer and a combined metal layer formed on it, consisting of a uniform layer and a layer containing structures arranged periodically in the horizontal direction, a graphene layer located on the metal layer, and electrodes for passing electric current. The homogeneous layer is made of a single-crystal cobalt layer with in-plane magnetization. The layer with periodic structures is made of a layer of gold 0.2-0.3 nm thick with periodic structural dislocations of a triangular shape. The graphene layer is made of epitaxial graphene on a metal layer. The electrodes are located on the graphene layer so that the direction of current transmission and the magnetization of the cobalt layer are mutually perpendicular.

EFFECT: expanding the spectral range of the detected radiation, reducing the size of the device and expanding the temperature range of its operation.
