SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of producing 4,6-bis-(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-2-phenylpyrimidine, in which 1,3-bis-[4-(N,N -dimethylaminophenyl)-prop-2-en-1-one, N'-hydroxybenzamidine in the presence of hexahydrate iron (III) chloride, 1,10-phenanthroline and potash are stirred at 120°C in a chlorobenzene medium, followed by isolation of the target product.
EFFECT: synthesis of 4,6-bis-(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-2-phenylpyrimidine by a simple method, providing the highest yield of 4,6-bis-(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-2-phenylpyrimidine, exhibiting fluorescent properties.
