FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry and specifically to a method of producing 1,2-bis(4-N,N-dialkylaminobenzylidene)hydrazines. Method involves reaction of excess hydrazine hydrate with 4-N,N-dialkylbenzaldehydes in a medium of acetic acid, which acts as a catalyst and a solvent. Synthesis takes place at 20 °C with stirring for 5-15 seconds.
EFFECT: disclosed express method enables to obtain 1,2-bis(4-N,N-dialkylaminobenzylidene)hydrazines, which have antioxidant activity.
