METHOD OF CLOSING POSTOPERATIVE WOUND AFTER CIRCUMCISION OF FORESKIN Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine; plastic surgery; urology.

SUBSTANCE: double-row suture is applied to the edges of the surgical wound after removal of the foreskin. The first row of dermo-dermal interrupted sutures is applied with absorbable thread, placing the nodes inward. Then a second row of sutures is applied more superficially using an absorbable thread, as shown in Fig. 1. The nodes of the second row of sutures are completely immersed under the skin, and gaps are left between the places where the threads of the second row are fixed.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to match the edges as much as possible, to form a thin, aesthetic scar, and at the same time the scar has greater strength, which is maintained throughout the entire period of resorption of the suture material; ensures the safety of the postoperative period and eliminates the risk of strangulation of the glans penis with sutures placed on the foreskin; allows to obtain the most aesthetic and functional postoperative scar minimizing aesthetic discomfort and functional discomfort due to hypersensitivity or trauma to the scar in the postoperative period; allows to reduce to a minimum the number of the required patient visits during the postoperative period, and allows to reduce the risks of wound infection in patients during the postoperative period.
