FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: corneal lenticule is formed when correcting myopia and myopic astigmatism using ReLEX SMILE and CLEAR technologies. In the process of performing intrastromal lenticule formation, after formation of tunnels above the upper lenticule space and under the lower lenticule space, the interface of the inner surface of the cornea is smoothed using a spatula, which is inserted into the tunnel above the upper lenticule space over the entire surface of the lenticule. A fix is made at the edge of the incision and smoothing movements are performed along the upper surface of the lenticule from the center to the right and left sequentially along an arc, starting with a minimum amplitude, which, as there is no resistance to the movement of the spatula, is gradually increased until smoothing movements are performed from limbus to limbus along the entire surface of the lenticule. Moreover, the number of movements of the spatula for each amplitude is 7-8 times in each direction. The process is then repeated for the tunnel under the lower surface of the lenticule.
EFFECT: method ensures an increase in effectiveness of the intervention by reducing trauma and the risk of intraoperative complications, as well as reducing the operation time.
