FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a device for introducing an intraocular lens. The device contains an insertion device body, comprising a main part having a proximal end and a distal end; a spout having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end of the spout is connected to the distal end of the main part, the spout further comprising an IOL storage area configured to accommodate the IOL, and a temporary IOL placement area distal to the IOL storage area; an opening having a longitudinal axis extending from a proximal end of the body to a distal end of the spout; a spring-reinforced rod movably mounted within the housing of the insertion device and aligned within the opening, the rod comprising a rod body having a proximal end accessible to the user and a distal end; a rod shaft having a proximal end and a distal end; a rod tip formed at a distal end of the rod shaft and adapted to engage the IOL and move the IOL axially in response to an axial force applied to the rod; and a spring having a first end connected to the rod body and a second end connected to the rod shaft. In response to the first axial force applied to the rod body the rod body is configured to move axially from a proximal position to a first distal position, and in response thereto, the rod shaft is adapted to move axially from the first position, adjacent in the proximal direction to the IOL storage area, to a second position proximally adjacent to the IOL temporary placement area; and coming into contact with a displaceable locking element configured to prevent additional axial movement of the rod shaft. The displaceable locking element is connected to the housing of the insertion device; in response to additional axial force applied to the rod body; the rod body is axially movable from a first distal position to a second distal position; and in response to this, the spring is adapted to store elastic energy; and in response to the displacement of the bias locking element and the release of stored elastic energy from the spring, the rod shaft is configured to move in an axial direction toward the distal end of the insertion device body.
EFFECT: IOL insertion device is proposed.
