FIELD: aviation technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to study the process of opening a gliding parachute (GP) in a wind tunnel (WT). The device contains a holder with a platform on which a camera-container with a GP placed in it and with a pilot chute attached to it is secured by a remotely controlled lock, a flexible link with a block and a strain gauge connecting the GP with the load, and video cameras. The device is equipped with: a guide tube hinged on the platform, through which a flexible link connecting the GP with the load passes, a pitch sensor and a safety cord attached to the rear edge of the GP profile with a ring that moves freely along the support cable connected to the holder.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of determining the dynamic load when opening the gliding parachute and the time of its filling and providing the ability to determine the path of filling the gliding parachute.
