FIELD: ion exchange processes.
SUBSTANCE: ion exchange unit comprises an ion exchange filter, inside of which upper and lower drainage and distribution devices are installed and there is a layer of ion exchanger particles with a density lower than the density of the water being purified, and a layer of particles of inert material with a density 15-25% greater than the density of the water being purified, a locking device, a container configured to receive inert material to ensure the following states of the filter layers during operation: for the stages of water purification, regeneration and washing, a stationary layer of ion exchanger particles and a layer of inert material particles are located from top to bottom along the height of the ion exchange filter, for the termination stage for supplying water to the ion exchange installation, a layer of ion exchanger particles and a free volume are located from top to bottom along the height of the ion exchange filter; for the loosening stage, a layer of fluidized ion exchange resin is located from top to bottom along the height of the ion exchange filter. Inside the container there are upper and lower drainage and distribution devices to provide inert material particles for the loosening stage of the fluidized layer.
EFFECT: ability to remove particles of inert material and mechanical impurities from a fluidized bed.
