FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a genetically engineered bacterium for producing L-tryptophan, where the original bacterium is modified with the ywkB gene, and the resulting genetically engineered bacterium has the activity of producing a higher yield of L-tryptophan than the original bacterium; where the modification consists of modifying the pseudogenic locus yeep with the ywkB gene.
EFFECT: when the strain is fermented in a shaking flask, it can accumulate 15.2 g/l of L-tryptophan within 24 hours, which is 35% higher than that of the control strain.
