SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and is a genetically engineered bacterium for producing L-arginine, which contains two pyrAA and pyrAB genes coding carbamoyl phosphate synthetase, and where the pyrAA and pyrAB genes originate from Bacillus subtilis; which further contains a gene coding an enzyme of the biosynthesis pathway of L-arginine, selected from one or more of the following enzymes: argC, argJ, argB, argD, argF, argG, argH; which further contains the lysE gene coding the arginine transporter; and for which Escherichia coli with simultaneous speA, adiA, astA and argE genes knockout is taken as the initial bacterium.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain L-arginine with high efficiency.
