FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method of anterior spinal fusion for infectious spondylitis which is using a titanium mesh cylindrical implant, a double-sided resorbable collagen membrane. First, surgical access to the affected vertebral bodies is performed, the affected tissue is radically removed, the spinal cord is decompressed, the size of the spinal defect is determined, and a titanium mesh cylindrical implant is cut to the resulting size, the said implant is wrapped in a double-sided resorbable collagen membrane. When folding a double-sided resorbable collagen membrane around a titanium mesh cylindrical implant, an overlap is made, and the end part of the titanium mesh cylindrical implant is overlapped by 3±1 mm, a double-sided resorbable collagen membrane is fixed to a titanium mesh cylindrical implant with absorbable surgical sutures, the titanium mesh cylindrical implant is filled with crushed fragments of autologous bone and osteoconductive material to allow contact with the bone structures of the vertebral bodies.
EFFECT: invention increases the effectiveness of treatment by reducing the time required for the formation of a bone block and, accordingly, restoring the supporting function of the spine, reduces the risk of progression and relapse of the disease, reduces the time of systemic chemotherapy to 4–6 months instead of 6–18 months, currently recommended for tuberculous spondylitis, and up to 1 month instead of 2–4 months for nonspecific spondylitis.
