SUBSTANCE: system for aligning the canopy carrying seeding units to the terrain of the field contains a frame element, a canopy connected to the frame element through a hinge and oriented parallel to the frame element, a first sensor configured to determine the position of the canopy relative to the ground. The seeding units are connected to the canopy. An actuator is connected between the frame element and the canopy adapted to rotate the canopy relative to the frame element based on a determined position of the canopy. A control system for aligning the tool to the terrain of the field, containing the frame element and the canopy, connected through a hinge to the frame element, parallel to the canopy, and to which the seeding units are attached. Said system comprises a control unit, at least one sensor configured to determine the position of the canopy relative to the ground, and an actuator that is connected between the frame element and the canopy. The control unit is configured to receive at least one signal from the at least one sensor indicating the position of the canopy relative to the ground, and activate the actuator to rotate the canopy based on the determined position of the canopy.
