FIELD: metrology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the devices for measuring the speed of sound. A sound speed meter in a liquid medium, containing an acoustic transceiver transducer and the first and the second reflectors, also containing a power amplifier and a preamplifier, the input of which is connected to the output of the power amplifier and the input of the acoustic transceiver transducer, a generator, a strobe generator, a comparator, a microcontroller, a temperature sensor and a display, wherein the first, second and third inputs of the generator are connected, respectively, to the output of the comparator, the first output of the microcontroller and the first output of the strobe generator, the second output of the strobe generator is connected to the first input of the comparator, the first input of the strobe generator is connected simultaneously to the second output of the generator and one of the inputs of the microcontroller, the other input of the microcontroller is connected to the temperature sensor, the second input of the strobe generator is connected to the second output of the microcontroller, the third output of which is connected to the input of the display, and the first and second reflectors are made in the form of plates, rigidly fixed on the same base with the transceiver transducer and parallel to it, perpendicular to the base plane and symmetrically relative to a line on the base plane parallel to the axis of the radiation pattern of the acoustic transceiver transducer, while the reflection area of the second reflector is at least twice as high as the first reflector. The circuit contains a detector, the input of which is connected to the output of the preamplifier, and the output is connected to the second input of the comparator, an adjustable voltage source, a switch, the input of which is connected to the output of the adjustable voltage source, the control input of the key is connected to the second output of the generator, and the output of the switch is connected to the third input of the comparator, a parallel connected resistor and capacitor, connected to the output of the switch, are also introduced.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring the speed of sound in liquids.
