FIELD: nutritional supplements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to carbohydrate-containing nutritional supplements. The nutritional supplement consists of an alginate hydrogel, wherein the said hydrogel contains the following: from 0.1 to 5 wt.% of alginate, where the alginate is saturated with calcium from 20% to 80% and an aqueous solution containing from 1 to 75 wt.% of active ingredients. The active ingredients are selected from one or more of the following ingredients: sugars and complex carbohydrates.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to create a nutritional supplement with improved storage stability, that allows to provide high and efficient absorption of carbohydrates without causing undesirable gastrointestinal symptoms.
