FIELD: medicine; surgery; oncology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the probability of paracolostomy hernia in ostomy patients. The following risk factors are determined: the presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chemotherapy (XT) and radiation therapy (RT) in the preoperative period. The absence of any of these factors is assessed as “0 points”, and the presence is assessed as “1 point”, taking into account the patient’s body mass index (BMI), gender (SEX): man “0 points”, woman “1 point”, and age (AGE). The HSV prognostic coefficient is calculated using the given formula. If the HSV value is more than 0.23, a high probability of a paracolostomy hernia is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to predict the probability of a paracolostomy hernia in ostomy patients due to the claimed risk factors.
