SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of creating an artificial equivalent of a round window membrane including the following stages: stage 1 — at which the collagen membrane is placed in the wells of a 6-well plate, filled with 2 ml of DMEM/F12 nutrient medium and left for 20 minutes to swell, after which the medium is removed with a pipette, stage 2 — at which human dermal fibroblasts are removed from the surface of the culture flasks, resuspended and seeded in an amount of 30,000–50,000 cells on the surface of the membrane prepared at stage 1, stage 3 — at which HaCaT cells are removed from the surface culture flasks, resuspended and seeded in an amount of 100,000 cells on the prepared membrane at stage 1 or on the prepared membrane with fibroblasts at stage 2, stage 4 — at which the membrane obtained at stage 3 is cultured in DMEM/F12 medium — 89%, fetal bovine whey — 10%, Glutamax — 1%, in a CO2 incubator for 5–7 days.

EFFECT: invention can be used to create a living equivalent of a round window membrane that matches the human round window membrane in cell layer thickness, structure and permeability.
