FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biomedicine, can be used in testing physiotherapeutic interventions, conducting preclinical tests, while reducing the use of animals. Artificial equivalent of a round window membrane is created, which in terms of cell layer thickness, structure and permeability corresponds to a human round window membrane. Equivalent of the round window membrane is a collagen membrane in the form of a disc with diameter of 1.6 ± 0.1 cm and thickness 100 ± 20 mcm with a living epithelial layer on its surface, which is formed either by human keratinocytes of the HaCaT line (embodiment 1), or cells that are human keratinocytes of the HaCaT line and a stromal component that is human dermal fibroblasts (embodiment 2).
EFFECT: invention provides a living equivalent of a round window membrane corresponding to a human round window membrane in terms of cell layer thickness, structure and permeability.
