FIELD: tensile testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to study the deformation behavior of brittle materials under tension under dynamic loading conditions at strain rates of 102-104 s-1. The device contains units for fastening the sample on both sides to Hopkinson-Kolsky rods. Each fastening unit contains an adapter and a union nut. The adapter is connected at one end with a threaded connection to the rod, and at the other end with a union nut. The nut is made of two equal symmetrical parts, bolted together. The contact point between the nut and the sample is made corresponding to the profile of the sample head.
EFFECT: increased reliability of sample fastening, preservation of the sample surface at the point of contact with the gripper of the installation.
