FIELD: biotechnology and virology.
SUBSTANCE: method has been proposed for indirectly determining the titer of infectious activity of feline calicivirus in raw materials for a vaccine using the polymerase chain reaction method in real time using original specific oligonucleotides for the region between 5'-NTR (untranslated region) and ORF1 (2C protein) of feline calicivirus and the developed logarithmic function of the dependence of the threshold amplification cycle and the titer of infectious activity of feline calicivirus. The proposed invention makes it possible to quickly and with a high degree of reliability determine the titer of infectious activity of feline calicivirus in raw materials for the vaccine.
EFFECT: increasing the yield of feline calicivirus RNA in the eluate, eliminating the possibility of contamination during the reaction, reducing the time of analysis of virus-containing raw materials for the vaccine to 3.0-3.5 hours and increasing the specificity and sensitivity of the analysis for determining the titer of infectious activity of feline calicivirus.
