FIELD: medicine; medical diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and normal body weight. A sample of peripheral venous blood is taken and DNA is extracted. An analysis of polymorphic variants of the aminopetidase gene ANPEP rs9920421 (A>G) and rs4932143 (C>G) is carried out. If a combination of the G allele rs9920421 with the G allele rs4932143 is detected, an increased risk of diabetic nephropathy is predicted. If a combination of the A allele of rs9920421 with the C allele of rs4932143 is detected, a low risk is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides new criteria for assessing the risk of diabetic nephropathy in patients of Central Russia with type 2 diabetes mellitus and normal body weight based on data on genetic polymorphisms rs9920421 (A>G) and rs4932143 (C>G).
