SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and normal body weight. Peripheral venous blood sampling is performed. After DNA extraction, the polymorphic variant of the gene from the heat shock protein family HSPA1A rs1043618 (G>C) is analyzed. If rs1043618 C/C genotype is detected, an increased risk of developing diabetic distal polyneuropathy is predicted. When genotype rs1043618 G/C and G/G is detected, low risk is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides new criteria for assessing the risk of developing diabetic distal polyneuropathy in residents of Central Russia with type 2 diabetes mellitus based on data on genetic polymorphism rs1043618 (G>C).
