FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to predict the risk of developing cardiovascular autonomous neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. A sample of peripheral venous blood is taken. DNA extraction is followed by analysis of polymorphic variant rs8041622 (G>A) of the ANPEP gene. In case detection of genotype rs8041622-A/A, high risk of developing cardiovascular autonomous neuropathy is predicted. In case detection of genotype rs8041622-G/G or rs8041622-G/A, low risk of developing cardiovascular autonomous neuropathy is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of developing cardiovascular autonomous neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus based on genotyping polymorphism rs8041622 (G>A) of the ANPEP gene.
