FIELD: medicine; oncology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when performing pleurodesis. The following is proposed: a method of pleurodesis with titanium nickelide powder doped with silver which includes applying a sclerosant to the surface of the pleura or introducing a sclerosant into the pleural cavity. As a sclerosant, titanium nickelide powder doped with silver with a particle size of 50–90 microns and a silver content in the alloy of 0.5–1.0 at.%, or a suspension prepared by mixing and shaking the powder with a sterile solution of novocaine 0.5 is used directly in proportions of 50%.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to achieve complete and permanent obliteration of the layers of the parietal and visceral pleura, as well as to increase the simplicity and safety of treatment due to the sclerosant used.
