Abstract RU 2810427 C1

FIELD: medicine; medical technology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of applying an antimicrobial coating to a medical catheter and a protective polyurethane coating for a medical catheter. The method includes preparing the surface of a medical catheter before coating, preparing a polyurethane solution, preparing an antimicrobial solution by adding an antimicrobial agent to a polyurethane solution, forming a coating by immersing a medical catheter in an antimicrobial solution, then raising the catheter to ensure the solution flows over the surface, and drying the coating. The preparation of a polyurethane solution is carried out by dissolving it in tetrahydrofuran in quantities required to obtain a 5% polymer solution. Bicomponent Cu72/Fe28 nanoparticles with an average size of 72 nm with the structure of Janus nanoparticles are used as an antimicrobial agent, and the addition of an antimicrobial agent to a polyurethane solution is carried out by introducing bicomponent Cu72/Fe28 nanoparticles into the polyurethane solution in an amount of 7% by weight of the dry polymer with stirring and dispersing bicomponent Cu72/Fe28 nanoparticles in an ultrasonic bath for 30 minutes to obtain a homogenized suspension of nanoparticles, followed by evaporation of tetrahydrofuran. A protective polyurethane coating for a medical catheter, which has antimicrobial properties, contains at least 7% bicomponent Cu72/Fe28 nanoparticles by weight of the dry polymer.

EFFECT: protective coating on a medical catheter based on polyurethane and Cu/Fe nanoparticles, which has antimicrobial, antibacterial and antifungal properties while maintaining the flexibility, mobility and elasticity of the catheter.
