SUBSTANCE: invention consists of applying an intra-subblock segment (ISP) mode to images having different chrominance signal formats. The image decoding method includes determining whether or not the prediction mode of the current block is an intra prediction mode based on information regarding the prediction mode of the current block, determining whether or not the mode is available based on intra sub segments (ISP) for of the current block when the prediction mode of the current block is an intra prediction mode, decoding an ISP application indicator indicating whether or not ISP should be applied to the current block when ISP is available for the current block, and generating a prediction block for the current block by applying the ISP to the current block, when determining that the ISP is applied to the current block based on the ISP applied indicator.
