SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and equipment for intra-prediction based on internal sub-segments in an image coding system. Increased coding efficiency is achieved by the method of image decoding by a decoding device that comprises the steps of: receiving prediction mode information regarding the current block; receiving internal subsegment mode-related information regarding the current block based on the size and maximum size of the transform block of the current block; extracting the internal prediction mode of the current block based on the prediction mode information; and generating a prediction sample of the current block based on the intra prediction mode and the ISP-related information.
