FIELD: image coding technology; method and equipment for intra-prediction based on internal sub-segments in an image coding system.

SUBSTANCE: technical result is to increase the efficiency of coding/decoding images. The result is achieved by executing the image decoding method by the decoding equipment. The method contains a stage of receipt of the image information including prediction mode information for the current block and information related to intra sub-segments (ISP) for the current block via a bitstream, wherein the ISP related information is received based on the size of the current block and the maximum size of the transformation block. Next, according to the method, the current block is decoded based on the prediction mode information and the ISP related information. Also, the intra prediction mode of the current block is extracted based on the prediction mode information, and a prediction sample of the current block is generated based on the intra prediction mode and the ISP related information.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of coding/decoding images.
