SUBSTANCE: method and equipment for image encoding/decoding using intra prediction. A method for decoding images is proposed, comprising: determining whether or not to apply intra prediction to the current block of chrominance signals, based on information regarding the prediction of the current block of chrominance signals, extracting the intra prediction mode of the current block of chrominance signals based on the intra prediction mode of the corresponding block of luma signals, corresponding to the current chrominance signal block, and chrominance signal intra prediction mode information of the current chrominance signal block, when intra prediction is applied to the current chrominance signal block, and generating a prediction block of the current chrominance signal block by performing intra prediction based on the intra prediction mode of the current chrominance signal block. Based on the tree structure of the current chroma block, which is a single tree structure (SINGLE_TREE), the intra prediction mode of the current chroma block is extracted based on the prediction method of the corresponding luma block. Based on the tree structure of the current chroma block, which is a dual tree structure (DUAL_TREE), and the prediction method of the corresponding luma block, which is the intra-block copy (IBC) prediction mode, the intra prediction mode of the current chrominance block is extracted based on DC- mode.
