FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for obtaining magnesium-substituted hydroxyapatite (Mg-HA) used for biocompatible coatings used in maxillofacial surgery and traumatology. The method involves the synthesis of Mg-HA with the use of aqueous solutions of nitrates, diammonium phosphate and ammonia, filtering the precipitate and the subsequent drying. The synthesis of Mg-HA is performed by mixing for 1 hour the aqueous solutions of magnesium and calcium nitrate taken at a ratio of 9:1, adding an equimolar amount of diammonium phosphate solution and 25% aqueous NH4OH solution to form a Mg-HA as a precipitate. The Mg-HA is maintained till maturing for 20-26 hours, filtered, dried at the temperature of 90-95°C, then for 100-130 hours at the temperature of 200-250°C. The Mg-HA is calcinated for 6-8 hours at 600-650°C, then cooled at the room temperature for 2-3 hours and ground for 15-20 minutes.
EFFECT: simplification of the production process for obtaining a Mg-HA powder, while preserving its flowability.
