FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to protective coatings for medical implants made of Mg-Ca-Zn alloy, and can be used to reduce biodegradation of magnesium alloys. The method includes micro-arc oxidation of a product made of Mg-Ca-Zn alloy in a weak alkaline phosphate-borate electrolyte Manel-W with pH = 8–9 for 15-20 minutes, while a pulse voltage of 400-500 V is applied to the product with a pulse duration of 140 -160 mcs and a repetition rate of 50 Hz, and the electrolyte temperature is maintained in the range of 20–25°C. The invention was developed using the equipment of the Tomsk Regional Centre for Collective Use of the Tomsk State University (TRCCU).
EFFECT: reducing the labour intensity of obtaining a biocompatible coating on products made of magnesium alloy, which slows down their biodegradation.
