SUBSTANCE: means for determining 3D information about a metallurgical vessel. A method for determining 3D information of the interior of a metallurgical vessel includes capturing the first optical image of at least one first interior of the metallurgical vessel from a position of the first imaging device outside the metallurgical vessel along the first optical axis; capturing the second optical image of at least one second interior portion of the metallurgical vessel from a position of the second imaging device outside the metallurgical vessel along the second optical axis; calculating 3D information about at least one internal part of the metallurgical vessel; wherein the first optical image is captured from a stationary position of the first imaging device along the first stationary optical axis and the second optical image is captured from a stationary position of the second imaging device along the second stationary optical axis.
EFFECT: ability to obtain 3D information about a large area of the internal space of a metallurgical vessel with high accuracy and in a short period of time.
